Desert Storm

A branching bolt of lightning cuts through a purple sky behind a tall saguaro cactus. Desert shrubs and smaller cacti fill the foreground, grounding the dramatic sky in the rugged Arizona landscape. Photographed in Saguaro National Park, the scene brings together the cactus’s sculptural form and the sudden brilliance of the storm.
