A View Half-Cutted

A partly open wooden door reveals a stone castle and mountain slope in A View Half-Cutted. Photographed in Sion, Switzerland, the scene layers rough masonry, greenery and distant architecture. Simone Amaduzzi’s composition uses the doorway’s narrow opening to guide the eye into the landscape.
