Colorful Vanity

Two masked figures share the frame beneath an exuberant sweep of orange and yellow feathers. A warm orange mask contrasts with a pale face surrounded by green and pink fabric, bringing several vivid colors together. Photographed during the Venice Carnival, the paired portrait highlights the costumes’ contrasting textures and decorative forms.
