Tangled

A white mask with red lips and delicate black-and-red eye ornament turns beneath a broad red hat. Fine strands and gold trim cross the surrounding fabric, echoing the curved decoration behind the figure. This Venice Carnival close-up draws attention to the interplay of intricate lines, bold color and a still profile.
