Since few years, during the International Festival Of The Arts at Walt Disney World, I’ve been asked to have speeches about Nature and Landscape photography.
“What does it take to get the right shot“
In the seminar topic and part of the conversation that I often have with the crowd is trying to explain how I got the picture and what did it take to make it happen.
I truly believe that the key of a success photographer today, in 2022, is THINKING OUT OF THE BOX. Today everybody is a photographer: we have cell phones, Ipad, tablets, GoPro and any kind of device who snap a memory instantaneously. We see pictures taken everywhere and anything gets viral so easily: I’m eating… let’s get a picture. I’m watching a movie, let’s share it to the world. I’m at the hospital, let’s take a photo just in case somebody wants to wish me good luck. The social media era is taking us out of the world that we used to live: no real conversations but virtual messages. No long dinners with chit-chats about life anymore, but Instagram stories about our food. No hand in hand emotions but some likes and hearts on Facebook.
I believe in a better future in which the colors of nature will resume the main stage of our days. I believe in the breathtaking view of the Grand Canyon but, overall, I believe in a future where an exciting and stunning photo can still steal a smile or a tear.
