Turquoise Hope

A pale mask with turquoise and silver decoration emerges from layers of blue fabric, feathers and beads. Shell-like ornaments and a jeweled flower enrich the tall headdress, while dark eye openings create a strong focal point. Captured during the Venice Carnival, the portrait explores variations within a vivid blue palette.
