Behind The Veil

A translucent yellow veil covers the lower part of a pale mask, leaving the eyes visible beneath a brilliant violet and pink headdress. Butterfly ornaments and golden trim enrich the surrounding folds. This Venice Carnival portrait focuses on the gaze revealed between layers of luminous fabric and elaborate decoration.
