Busted Lover

A deer-like mask with antlers and an elongated muzzle emerges beneath an extravagant silver and white hat. Dark patterned fabric frames the face, adding texture around the sculptural animal forms. Captured during the Venice Carnival, this close portrait highlights the imaginative transformation at the heart of the costume.
