Fire And Water

Two masked figures pose closely in vivid red and turquoise costumes, their contrasting colors filling the frame. Feathers, floral ornaments and elaborate hats create a richly layered setting around the pale faces. Photographed during the Venice Carnival, the paired portrait draws its energy from the meeting of warm and cool tones.
