Go Green

Lime-green fabric surrounds a pale mask decorated with fine silver patterns and softly colored cheeks. Ruffled edges sweep around the wide hat, where pink panels add a contrasting accent. Photographed during the Venice Carnival, the close portrait brings together crisp ornamental lines and the luminous folds of the costume.
