Luxurious Suitor

White feathers and peach-colored flowers rise above a pale mask surrounded by elaborate gold ornament. Layers of cream fabric, ruffles and jewels fill the portrait, with the face providing a quiet focal point. Photographed during the Venice Carnival, the costume brings sculptural richness to a soft, warm palette.
